Job Description

Customer Service AdvisorSalford Quays£10.71 per hour.Are you passionate about helping othersAble to offer calm and considered advice to often vulnerable or upset callersAre you interested in working for one of the countrys leading charities, initially on a temporary assignmentMain duties will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for incoming calls from adults, young people and related services Handles supporter enquiries, administrative matters and deal with any complaints
  • Assist the Helpline Support Manager in providing efficient administrative support to the team, working within policy, procedures and standards
  • Liaise with statutory agencies regarding the exchange of information
  • Making inbound and outbound calls and emailing to external agencies to share concerns, follow up on referrals, request further information and provide feedback
  • Responding to basic enquiries, including those from supporters and potential supporters and cross referencing correspondence received to individual case files
  • Speaking to supporters about their legacy, handling sensitive information and correspondence in relation to this, for e.g. letters from Will executives
  • Share appropriate messages and stories with supporters to inspire them to continue supporting our work with children and young people
  • Provide administrative support by undertaking national checks including liaison with other agencies relating to information regarding these checks, for example, foster checks.
  • The additional phone, email and administrative duties as required.
The role requires excellent communication skills, previous phone-based customer service experience and ideally an empathy / understanding of the nature of the calls being taken.Hours are on a rota basis: 35 hours per week Weekdays are between 8am10pm Weekends are between 9am6pm Weekend shifts are very occasional e,g 1 in 12. Successful application will be subject to safeguarding checks and 5 years referencing.
