Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Management Accountant to join an successful retail business based in the Worsley area. The business are looking for an ambitious and adaptable Assistant Management Accountant to join their dynamic financefunction on a permanent basis.Your role as the Assistant Management Accountant will focus on month-end reporting and you will support the leadership team assisting with preparation of Management AccountsKey Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Balance sheet preparation and reconciliation
  • Assist with the Budgeting and Forecasting process
  • Prep of month-end journals for fixed assets, prepayments & accruals, intercompany etc
  • Assist in producing financial statements including P&L accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
  • Variance analysis of financial reports
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns and liaising with HMRC
  • Ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as requested
Key Skills/Experience Required:
  • Relevant degree/studying towards AAT/first year chartered (ACCA/CIMA)/strong relevant experience in a similar role
  • Good communication skills and ability to take direction as part of a team
  • Not afraid to ask questions
  • Good computer skills with strong excel capability
  • Flexible and able to support pinch points in workload, particularly at month-end
