Job Description

A vacancy has arising in our Developer team for a Development Manager. The main duties for this role are as follows:The Role

  • To ensure the Delivery Team delivers a programme of new build homes in line with the Developer Business Plan, Homes England Commitments and wider strategic targets.
  • To support the New Business Function in site appraisals - driving efficiencies and deliverability within the build programmes whilst ensuring these are in line with Sales and business plan needs.
  • Responsibility for the delivery and performance monitoring of the development programme across all tenures.
  • To build relationships with key partners that will support the Trust in delivering new build homes, including Local Authorities and Homes England.
  • To ensure compliance across the programme, overseeing audits both internal and external. Maintaining high quality data sets and project files at all times.
  • Managing Health and Safety practices within the Team, reporting and monitoring.
  • Developing, updating and embedding policies, procedures and strategies that relate to the Developer Business Plan and Corporate priorities to ensure best practice.
  • Managing and reporting on budgets and performance information at an individual and programme level on a monthly basis in line with internal procedures.
  • Ensuring that internal and external customer views are used to develop and deliver high quality homes and excellent customer service.
  • Programme management of the sales programme along with Sales Managers to ensure that timely, accurate information is shared. Ensuring customer satisfaction and targets achieved.
  • Ensuring the Developer Team handover all developments in line with the scheme handover process driving quality and accountability through the team and contractors.
  • Driving accountability through the team, providing leadership, training and support to achieve programme, budget and quality targets.
  • Maintaining an excellent knowledge of the external environment and identify areas of best practice that can be applied to Developer, ensuring that the team is kept up to date on housing and development changes
The CandidateThe successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Previous experience and a professional track record of Housing development
  • Demonstrable experience of large programme management
  • A good understanding of different funding Mechanisms
  • A Project Management Qualification or equivalent
  • Customer focused with a drive to deliver change and improve standards
  • Team leadership and training skills
  • Focussed eye for detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrable history of relationship building
  • Proficient IT skills
Some travel is required for this role and therefore a full, clean driving license and access to a car is essential in this role.Closing date: 27th October 2021 (the closing date may be brought forward if enough applications are received for this position)
