Job Description

Business ManagerSalary£42,000 - £45.000 per annum, plus annual bonusSale Based (with Hybrid Working)Our client is looking to recruit a Business Manager, a newly created role for the business. This role will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to support with diary management and other critical demands on the CEOs time in order to allow theCEO the focus on the most strategically critical demands of SBG. The successful applicant will also interact with the Executive, Board and Senior Management team, to provide advanced support for the CEO and Non-Executive Chairman.Brief Job Description for the Business Manager:

  • Develop an effective and productive working relationship with the CEO and other members of the Board and Executive team to ensure the effective operation and implementation of Executive activities and strategy.
  • Build and maintain knowledge and understanding of the overall business strategy to ensure a clear link with the functions and their activities, facilitating connections across the functions.
  • Support and facilitate delivery of key projects and initiatives on behalf of the CEO.
  • Design, organise and co-ordinate meetings for the CEO and Non-Executive Chairman, drive the agenda, produce minutes where relevant, follow up on operational plans, ensuring they are aligned to strategic priorities and achieved in a timely manner.
  • Support in the effective management of the CEOs inbox and proactively assisting the CEO in all aspects of day-to-day business activities, to ensure compliance with Executive and governance responsibilities.
  • Adhere to the terms of reference of the Governance meetings, ensuring that accurate minutes and actions are recorded and available within the required timeframe.
  • To ensure a regular interface and communication points with key Aviva stakeholders.
  • Identify and escalate potential risk and issues to the CEO as appropriate and ensure effective resolution, providing oversight of the iCare system.
  • Research and source external and internal information, interpreting data, presenting ideas for discussion with the CEO and summarising / analysing information.
  • Collection and collation of monthly reports, to facilitate the Executive and Board reports within the required timeframe.
  • Ensure that all committee actions are recorded on the matters arising schedule, actions followed up and updates provided before the next committee meeting.
Key Requirements:
  • Be able to analyse and interpret reports and complex challenging data
  • Have the ability to work with Senior stakeholders from across the business and externally, as well as work effectively with C-Suite level executives.
  • Be adaptable with empathy and flexibility, in order to manage multi tasks/issues simultaneously in a high-pressured environment.
  • Possess excellent communication skills in order to gain commitment to support delivery of objectives and gain credibility with Senior Managers and Executives.
  • Rigorous and organised to ensure effective use of the CEOs time, as well as be able to work well under pressure and tight timescales, with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to network, influence and gain support.
  • Have drive and tenacity to get things done and deliver, even in the instance when challenged by senior stakeholders.
  • Experienced in MS Office packages including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Can cope and adapt to constant business change, therefore evolving and shaping the requirements of the role to meet business needs.
  • Previous PA/EA experience
  • Experience of working at Senior Director Level
  • Comprehensive minute taking and action tracking experience
