Job Description

Team Leader, Care Worker, Support Worker, Care Assistant, Permanent, Saffron WaldenTeam LeaderAn award-winning homecare provider in the Saffron Walden area requires an experienced care and support worker who is keen to step up to the role of Team Leader. They are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual who is passionate about ensuring theirclients receive care and support of the highest possible standard.The Team Leader will be reporting to the Care Manager. The Team Leaders main role is to lead a growing team of visiting care staff and assist the other members of the management team in developing the service. Success in the role will lead to the offer ofa more senior position.Main ResponsibilitiesCare work

  • Cover care calls and deliver care as and when required in line with the companys policies and procedures and the job description of a care and support assistant
Team leadership
  • Assist in the interviewing and inducting of new Support Assistants, monitor and supervise their day-to-day work and hold regular team meetings
Planningand scheduling
  • Assist the Care and Compliance Manager in planning staff work schedules
Client assessments and reviews
  • Assist the Care and Compliance Manager in carrying out client assessments and reviews
On-call rota
  • Take part in the on-call rota and, should a carer who is supposed to be on duty be unexpectedly absent, ensure that all clients have their calls covered
Qualifications and Skills
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care (or be working towards it)
  • The knowledge, skills and confidence needed to supervise other staff successfully.
  • The kindness and sensitivity needed to relate well to older people and pick up on their sometimes unspoken needs
  • A strong interest in career development, both for yourself and for the people you are leading
