Job Description

The RoleWe are recruiting for Senior Project Manager to focus on managing the delivery of technology and change projects including infrastructure and software projects within agreed time and budget constraints. Working with the Change team as well as internal stakeholders,external contractors and third-party suppliers to determine and manage effective solutions that facilitate the delivery of change projects. Engaging with the wider business and key stakeholders. To own and drive forward the continual improvement of informationsecurity practices across the society.Key Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Leading on the initiation and scoping of new projects. Owning and collaborating with key stakeholders to develop a business case for new projects, which will feed into the prioritisation process, considering risk and budgetary requirements.
  • Supporting in the allocation of project management resource to projects across the portfolio, always ensuring that the roadmap remains feasible and potential risks are raised early.
  • Coaching and leading the project management team, determining the right approach for the team to take and evaluating this through the life of a project.
  • Providing support to the other project managers to ensure they can successfully deliver their projects and maximising value.
  • Providing necessary communication to the Project Management Officer to allow for the portfolio level planning, resourcing, budget tracking, risks and issues to be tracked.
  • Refining project proposals and business case developments driving out value proposition and benefits realisation.
  • Defining project scope, goals, deliverables and overall problem statements and motivating others to meet the shared long-term vision.
  • Developing and maintaining project plans; updating and tracking progress against the baseline and manage the timely delivery of the projects.
  • Creating approaches and plans to manage projects through to completion. Working through problems encountered within the project ensuring a satisfactory outcome.
  • Managing expectations for the delivery of the project and escalating issues on deadlines, cost and quality as early as possible to senior management to enable appropriate corrective action to be taken.
  • Facilitating the management of the portfolio of change projects including identifying dependencies between projects, particularly in respect of resources, and the reporting of programme level issues and risks.
  • Consulting with third party suppliers to ensure successful delivery of external products.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with IT throughout multiple change cycles.
