Job Description

Health and Safety ManagerMaternity Cover (1 year+), full-time, 37.5 hours per weekYou will support the development and implementation of health and safety systems across 2 sites and ensure / monitor compliance with all relevant legislation.Responsibilities:

  • To promote a positive Health & Safety culture across 2 sites
  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative measures
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and implement any recommendations ensuring that anything that falls within the scope of Riddor is ported to the HSE
  • Manage and coordinate the health and safety committee and report all safety awareness, issues and statistic
Knowledge & ExperienceEssential
  • Degree or equivalent in safety management (NEBOSH or IOSH qualification)
  • A proven track record and level of experience as a Health and Safety Manager
  • Full understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous chemicals and practices
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Working knowledge of safety management systems
Person Specification
  • Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, accountability and flexibility
  • Highly motivated, with a positive attitude to all aspects of the role
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
  • Excellent problem solving and organisational skills
