Job Description

Electro-Mechanical EngineerSaffron Walden, EssexSalary to £45,000 paAn Electro-Mechanical Engineer is required by long established chemistry equipment manufacturer to support the continuous improvement of their growing range of innovative chemistry equipment. The Electro-Mechanical Engineer will be working in the R&D teamand liaising closely with Production to help manage the lifecycle of new and existing products.In particular, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing and delivering product improvement projects
  • Electro-mechanical and mechanical design upgrades at component and system level using SolidWorks
  • Contributing to New Product Development projects
  • Assisting in the design of products and creating innovative solutions to meet customer needs
  • Identification, evaluation, and integration of electronic components, including power supplies, PCBs, motors, fittings, connectors, sensors, firmware, etc.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • A degree in electro-mechanical engineering
  • Significant working experience in an industrial or R&D environment with a track record of delivering projects on time and to budget
  • Continuous Improvement / product lifecycle management in an engineering environment
  • Design experience including electronic system components (e.g., motors, PCBs, etc.), EMC design techniques and solutions, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis
  • Knowledge of electronics circuit design and implementation within measurement and control devices
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials (e.g., machining, moulding, casting, sheet metal, coatings, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of 3D SolidWorks
  • Experience sourcing materials from suppliers
  • Late-phase product development and debugging experience
  • Fully IT literate with standard Microsoft Office packages
  • Full driving license
Other useful skills/experience might include:
  • Working in the scientific glassware and instrumentation sector
  • Good understanding of communications protocols for software and hardware
  • Electrical engineering, electronics, software, or similar degree or experience
Salary: to £45,000 paHours: Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.Location: Saffron Walden, EssexPlease bear in mind that you may not hear from us straight away.
