Job Description

Were currently recruiting one leader in the Saffron Walden, Essex, area.

  • Passionate about technology.
  • Loves working with children and helping them learn new skills.
  • Reliable and professional.
  • Great at communicating and able to make learning fun.
  • Strong IT literacy. Not specifically in code - we use a simple drag and drop interface, and youll get lots of training on how to use this.
  • Confident around children.
  • Some teaching or coaching experience would be handy (not necessary).
  • Available during our core hours of Monday to Friday afternoons, between 3.30 pm and 8 pm, during term time (there are also other opportunities outside of these core hours).
  • Has a creative personality, and can come up with original ideas for our new mini-projects and activities.
  • You will require means of transport; a car is essential as you will be transporting club equipment such as laptops.
  • Are you passionate about tech Do you want to introduce children to the diverse, exciting world of coding, then The Code Zone could be for you The Code Zones mission is to introduce children to the diverse world of coding by running exciting, termly clubs with bespoke hands-on challenges and games using the latest robot and drone technology.Were now looking for an enthusiastic, tech-loving individual to take on the leader role in our afterschool coding and tech clubs. As the club leader, well give you the tools to help you inspire young people to develop their love of coding and technology.The club will be run weekly in Cambridge (4.5 hours per week - 3.30 pm until 8 pm). In the coming months, further clubs will start in the surrounding areas, such as Haverhill and Bishops Stortford, taking the total available hours up to 13.5 hours per week.Our ideal candidate is:Things to note
  • You will receive full training and support.
  • First Aid training provided.
  • All leaders will require a DBS check, which we will do.
  • All equipment and club content will be provided - leaders are responsible for looking after and identifying/resolving minor or major issues with equipment. You will receive full training and support on how to do this.
  • In return
  • Regular part-time work with the opportunity for further hours as we expand.
  • A wage of £10-12 per hour - depending on experience.
  • You will receive travel re-reimbursement when travelling outside of local areas.
