Job Description

Purchasing and Logistics Assistant Up to £25,000Ryton-on-DunsmoreThe CompanyWorking for an industry leader who operates in the global construction and infrastructure market.Why Would I Want to Work HereThis is an opportunity to work in an environment where they are committed to the wellbeing of their staff. You will also be able to work from home 1 or 2 days per week, depending on the business needs.The Essence of The RoleTo assist in the day-to-day operations of the Central Procurement department.Scope of the Purchasing and Logistics Assistant

  • Follow contracts programmes and ensure timely provision of specified equipment and supplies for projects
  • Be able to adapt quickly and efficiently to programme requirements
  • Run comparisons, and negotiate on price ethically and appropriately
  • Ensure arrangements are in place to transport site equipment to sites
  • Appraise potential suppliers and expedite the quality assurance of them
  • Raise and manage orders
  • Expedite scheduled deliveries by liaising with suppliers
  • Monitor and record supplier performance
  • Provide support to Estimators with acquiring quotes, and offering supplier and material recommendations
Prerequisites
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Previous experience in a construction purchasing environment or exposure to the construction industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
