Job Description

The CompanyFINANCIAL CONTROLLER - Co Durham£50,000 - £60,000Nigel Wright are delighted to be working with a growing manufacturing business who are looking to appoint a Financial Controller into the team.The business has invested several £millions over the last 2-3 years in capital equipment and has plans to continue with further investment, along with growth.The Role

  • Leading a small team, you will be an experienced Financial Controller with proven skills around developing, coaching and managing a team
  • You will have control over the day to day running of the finance function including monthly accounts, forecasting, annual budgeting, managing KPIs, analysing the monthly accounts and providing insights to help the business understand the numbers
  • You will work closely with the production and engineering departments, educating them on the financials, as well as supporting them financially with operational/commercial decisions and projects
  • The business has just made the decision to change their ERP system and its likely this will either be an upgrade of existing systems, or a full new package. You will form part of the project team
The Person
  • You will be either a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or a qualified by experience Financial Controller with experience of working within a manufacturing environment
  • Youll have a natural ability to work in partnership with the operations/engineering teams and have a curious and engaging personality
  • The ability to both challenge and influence here is essential
  • Youll have the ability to work at a pace and have previous/current experience of working as a Financial Controller, leading a team
Further Information
  • Salary £50,000 - £60,000 (£60k is for an exceptional candidate who meets all the criteria)

  • Hybrid working - the business would like the incumbent to spend the majority of time in the office and are happy to work on basis of 4 days in the office and 1 day at home, or indeed 5 days in the office if you prefer
