Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high achieving team. We are a forward thinking and innovative Primary Care Network in Manchester looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our team. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise reinvesting in our patients, and our staff.The role is well supported by a lead Pharmacist and is fully integrated into our clinical team. You will be an experienced Pharmacy Technician with an understanding of General Practice / Primary Care. You will have experience of working with the general public.About the OrganisationThe Robert Darbishire Practice Ltd is a not for profit, local, social enterprise and all profits are re-invested back into the service.The organisation operates on three sites, The Robert Darbishire Practice (Rusholme), The Whitswood Practice (Alexandra Park) and New Bank Health Centre (Longsight). Our practices are in inner city areas with a diverse, multicultural population.We have a large and supportive team and all of our staff (including the GPs) are employed by RDP Ltd. The organisation is run by a Board of Directors made up of the senior clinical and non-clinical staff.About YouYou will be an experienced Pharmacy Technician. You will have an excellent understanding of prescribing issues in general practice and primary care.You will be able to communicate and work well within the wider Primary Health Care Team as well as having the confidence to work independently. Enthusiastic and flexible you will have a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care for all our patients. As they are a diverse and multicultural population, excellent people skills and an awareness of equality and diversity issues are essential.The post is full time and permanent. Times are to be arranged but will be between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Monday to Friday. You will also need to be able to work on Saturday mornings 9.00 a.m. - 13.00 p.m. on a rota basis (this is currently expected to be four per year).You will also need to fulfil our remaining essential criteria (see person specification).Professional DevelopmentThe Practice team offers a welcoming and supportive environment with a comprehensive induction process. Our Tuesday Development Meetings provide protected time every week to meet with colleagues and we hold weekly educational sessions with colleagues and invited speakers. As for all our allied healthcare professionals you will work as part of the team and be supported to develop your role and your continued professional development.
