Job Description

A secondary school based in the central Manchester area (close to Rusholme, Levenshulme and Fallowfield) is looking to recruit a confident and experienced Graduate Teaching Assistant to start with them following the summer break in September. This full time support position doesn’t have a fixed start date with the school open to taking the most ideal candidate over the course of the first few weeks between 7th September and end of the month. The successful graduate will then be booked in through Teaching Personnel in the first instance, progressing on to a school based contract from the end of January onwards if applicable.The successful Graduate Teaching Assistant will report to the school’s SENCO and be given a specific cohort of students to support within mainstream classes. The role of this graduate will include general support of students with a variety of needs including concentration management and moderate learning difficulties as well as providing intervention. There will be opportunity to support in a variety of subjects with the successful graduate being able to support in their specific area of choice.Please highlight on your application where your strengths lie.Any individuals with transferable skills of working with young people who have special educational needs (SEN) are encouraged to apply now for consideration. This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, youth worker with experience of supporting students in a school setting or a graduate who has worked with young people in the community or even engaged with young people in a personal setting.Highlights of this Graduate Teaching Assistant role:

  • Pay will be dependent upon experience; opportunity to earn up to £1350 per month
  • Full time support position in a central Manchester based secondary school with a supportive network of teachers and senior leadership team
  • Work within a large support team including a SENCO, Learning Support Manager and team of 4 Teaching Assistants
  • Support specific students with special educational needs as well as providing intervention and support within the classroom supporting teachers where required
    • This central Manchester based secondary school is located close to the city centre. For those prospective graduates travelling by public transport, there are regular buses which travel from Piccadilly Gardens in the city centre to a road close to the school. The metrolink tram also services the school well with the tram stop being a short walk away from the school. The school boasts fantastic facilities with a large on site car park for those who drive as well as being set in a quiet residential area.The school is ideally looking for a confident graduate who is able to add value to students supporting them as required.
