Job Description

Pre-Construction ManagerLocation: based at theRushden depot with regular travel to other depots Offer: Permanent £60,000 - £70,000 (company car + fuel card, 25 days holiday, pension, healthcare and opportunity to progress)!We are currently recruiting on behalf of our Highways and Streetworks Technology client for a Pre-Construction Manager to join them on a permanent basis, you will be primarily working from their Rushden depot, with travel to other depots in England. As well as Traffic Signals, the company are also involved in projects around Streetlighting,EV Chargers, Traffic Signs technology installations and maintenance.As the Pre-Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the estimating team and taking projects through the Pre-Construction stage by ensuring bids are completed and submitted on time and within budget.Pre-Construction Manager Responsibilities:

  • Planning and managing all aspects of our bids, providing support and expertise to the estimators
  • Ensuring effective bid management and leadership is provided on all tenders
  • Day to Day management of the Estimating team
  • Working to deadlines on multiple PQQs / Tenders and prioritising accordingly
  • Liaising with other teams around the business to provide specific and bespoke information for the submissions.
  • Ensuring all projects have a formal brief, specifications, procurement plans and tender documents, and is robustly managed, in accordance with the contract.
  • Identifying team and process improvements to ensure the estimating team are efficient and accurate in the work they are carrying out
  • Understanding and interacting with the wider business, to ensure a consistent approach
Requirements & Qualifications for the Pre-Construction Manager role:
  • Full UK driving license (ESSENTIAL)
  • Experienced in managing pre-contract teams and preparing tender submissions (ESSENTIAL)
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience in Streetworks or Highways industries (DESIRABLE)
