We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced General Manager to join our Fortem team, based in Northamptonshire supporting a brand-new contract! This is a permanent position ideal for someone who is confident, driven and passionate to succeed.Someone that leads by example and is capable of driving productivity through motivated and committed teams. This role is instrumental to the smooth running of this high-profile contract.In this role you will be responsible to lead on the delivery of a Social Housing Repairs and Maintenance contract. As a General Manager with Fortem, you will direct, manage and control all branch operations cost effectively and efficiently. You will maximisethe use of resources and utilise a highly motivated and empowered team to achieve the highest level of client satisfaction with services provided. Working with our Senior Management Team, branch staff and central services you will strategically plan, organiseand manage the business resources to maximise profit and performance levels and meet company objectives and to have overall accountability for the performance of this branch.This is a great opportunity to join a highly successful and expanding business.The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:Essential: Knowledge of Health & safety legislation Ability to think strategically, imaginatively and develop clear sighted, concise and well-articulated plans Ability to plan, organize and manage resources Ability to understand and interpret financial information Proven people management skills Ability to work under pressure and meet competing and changing deadlines Information Technology literate with competency in the use of software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS ProjectGood negotiation skills to achieve acceptable outcomes for the businessHigh intellectual capability Excellent interpersonal skills Good presentation skills Able to demonstrate credibility in role to client and teamDesirable: Relevant professional qualifications Experience of change management practices Understanding of Partnership and Open Book practices Management of operational budgets of at least £5M including profit and loss responsibility within services industry or in a large repair and maintenance environment Operational management experience of working and managing multi-disciplined teams with demonstrable record of excellent achievementFortem embraces diversity in the workplace and encourages applications from all sectors of the community.We need someone to join and support our team who is proactive, customer focussed, approachable with a can do attitude.
