Job Description

Transport PlannerKey Responsibilities and Accountabilities include tasks as follows:

Demonstrate a sound knowledge of load securing and safe loading of vehicles.

Export transport planning and scheduling.

Taking phone calls dealing with general enquiries, customer quotations etc.

Developing business with clients and maximising opportunities to ensure all available trailers have appropriate reloads.

Liaising with other offices both internally and abroad in relation to export loads.

Liaising with ferry companies in respect of ferry bookings.

Liaising with drivers to ensure they are adequately instructed in respect of jobs allocated.

Ensuring we deliver good customer service consistently.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Experience of working as a transport Planner / freight forwarding environment is essential and must possess a good geographical knowledge of UK & Europe, minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

Knowledge of cargo loading capabilities and cargo / trailer planning is essential.

Good communicator, strong written and verbal communication skills, be people oriented, good telephone manner, problem solver and an outgoing personality is a must.
