Job Description

Job Title Product Development Engineer (Extrusion)Location- RuncornSalary- £35,000Working hours- Mon - Thurs 7.30am to 4.30pm & Friday 7.3012.30pmJob ScopeWorking for one of a global manufacturer you will be part of the Product Development Team, specialising in extruded products and extrusion production processes. Due to the nature of the role occasional international and European travel maybe requiredDuties and Responsibilities

  • Involved In all aspects of R&D Extrusion Projects
Actively work as part of the R&D team on extrusion projects, trialling products, outsourcing raw materials and investigating machinery and tools, to meet the needs of the project and the team. Assist in production trials for new developed item. Working withthe team to develop solutions to problems that occur during, the lifetime of a project.
  • Production of Product Quality Evaluation Reports
Monitor and evaluate products under development, keeping accurate records of trials, trial findings and modifications.
  • Investigation of New Techniques and materials within the industry
Carry out research and investigate new techniques and products within the plastic extrusion industry, explore potential product developments and their application. Taking into consideration compliance with the law on health & safety, and environmental impact.
  • Technical Support, UK Production Facility
Support production staff, giving advice and technical assistance. Promote TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance). So that when completed developments are transferred, documentation containing important maintenance schedules and other relevant documentationare provided and communicated to the manufacturing team.
  • Health & Safety
Responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the Companies Health and Safety policy. Taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and the health and safety of others that may be affected during the trialling of products and processes.
  • Supervision
