Job Description

General ManagerTransformationAs General Manager (Transformation) within a high profile national health sector contract, you will take the operational lead for the service transition of a live warehouse operation into a new purpose built warehouse site. You will lead the transition to dualoperation and into full operational integration into the new site. Your input will be from warehouse layout and design through to a fully transitioned operation. You will be instrumental in developing the logistics operating model from Regional Distributioninto a Northern National Distribution Centre model, partnering senior stakeholders across IT, Inventory Management, Customer Services, Project Management, Transport and Operations.A full 360 role, you will define and lead on all aspects of the Northern National Distribution Centre model, covering inbound and outbound processing, warehouse management, quality, compliance, distribution, returns processing, stock integrity, safety, Pand L, Continuous Improvement and lean (through the Unipart Way methodology). You will partner the Transport, Inventory Management and Customer Services functions in delivering an end to end solution to your senior internal and external customer stakeholders.You will provide guidance and coaching to the current Senior Operational leadership team, ensuring that all customer SLA and KPIs continue to be met across this period of change. You will provide strategic direction in developing and embedding a culture ofcontinuous improvement. As the site Responsible Person, you will be accountable for internal and external quality, safety and compliance audits.About the Role

  • Define, plan, manage and sustain organisation and operational change and transformation projects that will truly make a difference to our customers long term logistics network strategy.
  • Responsible for compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental and quality standards.
Through your senior team:
  • Ensure that the Unipart lean and Continuous Improvement methodology Unipart Way is implemented and embedded across the site and understood in all roles, driving operational excellence.
  • Embed a culture of employee engagement across the site to ensure that employee voice and suggestion is managed in an open and inclusive way, partnering Site Forum and Trade Unison Representatives.
  • Lead and coach the current senior leadership team, developing their confidence and ability to deliver your strategic operational and commercial growth plans.
  • Be accountable for setting operational objectives in accordance with Network strategic business plans and targets.
  • Ensure that resource skills and levels are consistent with medium- and long-term business plans.
  • Overall accountability for operational performance to Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Ensure that the operating budget is set and managed within targets.
  • Monitor performance through operational reviews and audits. Overall accountability for compliance with legal, compliant and ethical people management practice.
  • Manage regulatory compliance standards in line with GDP and MHRA requirements.
About You
  • Experience at operating at a senior level with Director and Board level stakeholders.
  • Proven experience of delivering through leading senior stakeholders across a matrix management structure.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage capital investment projects and apply project management tools and techniques.
  • Proven ability in implementing operational and cultural change projects within high volume driven environments.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a challenging and constantly changing environment.
  • Proven commercial management is required to ensure financial success with P and L accountability and contract growth targets.
  • Proven experience of tendering, re-tendering for commercial contracts and evidence of successfully growing such contracts through executive customer stakeholder engagement.
  • Previous experience of leading logistics operations through organisation change and BAU with a span of control of £30m budget and 500 plus warehouse operations colleagues.
