Acorn Recruitment is searching for a time served Centre Lathe Machinist to join our client, a precision and fabrication company based in Runcorn, Cheshire.The purpose of the role is to set up lathes, feed machines and meet customer expectations whilst adhering to strict health and safety procedures and regulations.Duties of the role include:* Selecting the cutting tools for machining operations using conventional lathes* Mounting and dismounting workpieces on/from lathe* Performing roughing and finishing operations* Checking finished pieces to ensure compliance with technical drawings* Carrying out maintenance of turning lathe and tools* Cleaning turning lathe and work area.* Checking and inspecting own work to tight tolerances. * Other duties may include maintaining stocks and placing orders for materials and supplies.The successful candidate will be time served, have knowledge of industrial machining techniques. The ability to use measuring equipment for quality control checks. Knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices and procedures for machine tools. Strong manual skills, reliability, precision and attention to detail. Be able to work with minimal supervision and to follow instructions.Hours of work are: Monday to Thursday. 8am - 4.30pm & Friday 8am - 3.30pmSalary is negotiable depending on knowledge and experience to offer.Acorn Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
