Job Description

£24,500-£27,500 plus sleep-in allowance (£70.47 per sleep-in with an average of 6-8 per month)Excellent opportunity for an experienced, qualified candidate to join the team in one of our childrens residential homes. We are a rapidly expanding organisation who are currently offering a very competitive salary plus benefits including a quality bespoke training package and generous remuneration for sleep-in shifts. We specialise in supporting Children and Young People who have suffered early life trauma, neglect or abuse and may display challenging behaviours.The main duties of this role include:

  • To lead the team to deliver high quality care to our young people
  • To ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
  • To communicate effectively with the team regarding the plans for the day
  • To provide reports and documentation that reflects the progress of the young person using our paperless systems and tools
  • To review the young peoples care plans and other associated documentation
  • To undertake an in-depth quality and bespoke training package
  • To attend/chair staff meetings and be proactive in developing and improving the service model
  • To act as an advocate for the young person whilst using a positive parenting model
  • To work with young people using positive support strategies including de-escalation tools and techniques using in-house training (PRICE)
  • To provide support to the Manager in order to complete day to day tasks
  • To run the home in the absence of the Manager
  • To complete on-call duties as and when required
    • Job Requirements
  • To provide positive parenting
  • To have exceptional communication skills
  • To have sound working knowledge of current legislation e.g., Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards)
  • To provide support and positive role modelling to the staff team (including completing supervisions)
  • Must be prepared to complete Diploma Level 5 Childrens Residential Care
  • To be open minded, empathetic in a calm and professional manner
  • To attend meetings etc on behalf of the Manager in a professional manner
    • Essential Requirements
  • Must have a full manual driving licence
  • Must be fully flexible and have the ability to work unsociable shift patterns
  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • The desire to develop into a Registered Childrens Home Manager
  • To participate in further continuing professional development support the needs of our young people
