Job Description

The CompanyWe are representing one of the UKs leading 3PL businesses, for a food contract operation that is expanding due to extra demand. You will be part of a market leader with a focus on quality in both their service and those who work for them. You will have theopportunity to work alongside some of the best the industry has to offer.The Role - Transport PlannerAs a Transport Planner you will be working as part of a team of 8 Transport Planners, reporting into the Planning Manager. You will have the opportunity to plan for 4 sites nationally, optimising the routes of vehicles to be as speedy and cost efficient aspossible.Other Responsibilities include:

  • Planning for whole of the UK network.
  • Outsourcing to other hauliers and 3PLs
  • Re-adjusting routes and communicating with all parties.
  • Been a secondary point of contact for clients and drivers in the transport office.
  • Producing tachograph analysis.
  • Producing reports on transport efficiencies.
  • Covering for other members of staff.
Working Hours4 on 4 off Days - 6 till 6The Skills RequiredThe ideal candidate will have performed already in a Transport Planner role before, or as a Transport Clerk / Admin aspiring for more responsibility. They will also have skills and experiences clearly demonstrated in their CV in the following:
  • Experience of Transport planning systems
  • Ideally 2+ years in 3PL Logistics
  • Ideally 2+ years in food distribution
  • Ideally experience of using Mandata
  • Excellent UK transport knowledge
  • Commutable daily to Rugby
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A significant understanding of road logistics
  • Excellent MS Excel skills
  • Very computer literate.
  • The ambition and ability to work at a higher level.
