Job Description

Location: Rugby, WarwickshireContract Type: PermanentHours: 07:00am to 3:30pm, 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday (occasional Saturdays due to Audits)Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 per annumClosing date: 05-02-2024We are seeking an experienced Technical Assistant; you may have experience within the food industry and want to delve into the Meat side or start your career path to come to the food industry! Here at Carnivore, we offer a bespoke butchery solution, whichcan be adapted to suit our clients’ changing needs. All our meat is completely traceable from field to fork, and we offer a wide range of options, including UK Red Tractor Farm Assured, imported, halal, and free range.We have an immediate requirement for an experienced Technical Assistant, to support the Technical Manager in ensuring Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, attainment of customer and regulatory standards and maintenance of 3rd party accreditationse.g., BRC.Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Food technical customer enquiries.
  • Supplier Quality Assurance.
  • Routine factory based technical and quality checks.
  • Conducting internal audits of documents and manufacturing protocols.
  • Laboratory sample collation, submission and result review including follow up.
  • Finished goods, raw material, and internal specifications.
  • Technical and operational process control monitoring.
  • Investigating and concluding customer and supplier complaints including associated corrective / preventative actions.
  • Generating monthly technical board reports.
  • Training of team members against site QMS including HACCP.
  • Supporting a positive food safety and quality culture.
We are looking for applicants with the following skills, attributes, and experience:
  • Science degree or equivalent. (food related preferred but not essential).
  • Previous experience in a food technical environment.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Good people skills, with ability to work collaboratively in a team and part of a wider team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Food Legislation.
