Job Description

Democratic Services Officer£13.6937 hours Monday-Friday2 month contractRugby CV21 2RRHybrid working availableOpus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Rugy Borough Council for a Democratic Services Officer to work as part of a team under the direction of the Democratic Services to service a number of committees, panels and working parties and undertakeany administrative tasks arising from meetings.Main duties:

  • Service meetings of various Committees, Panels, Working Parties and other meetings by the electronic preparation of agendas, reports and minutes.
  • Cover for other members of the section when absent through illness or other leave.
  • Attending meetings assigned and taking notes.
  • Liaising, as necessary, with officers of the Council and outside bodies.
  • Undertaking work arising from meetings assigned, including correspondence, reports and liaison with officers of other departments and outside bodies in implementing decisions of meetings.
  • Index Council, Cabinet, Panel and committee minutes.
  • Maintain various Registers.
  • Help in the organisation of civic ceremonial and twinning events, when and if required.
  • Help with the training of other Democratic Services Officers in the Section.
  • Supervise the procedure for the opening of tenders by Chairmen of the appropriate Committee or Panel.
