Job Description

As a Distressed Credit Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating distressed debt securities, conducting in-depth analysis to identify investment opportunities, and providing valuable insights to support our investment strategies in distressed creditmarkets.Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analysis and Due Diligence: Conduct thorough analysis of distressed debt securities, assessing credit risk, company financials, restructuring potential, and legal considerations.
  2. Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to evaluate distressed assets, including cash flow projections, liquidation scenarios, and recovery estimates.
  3. Risk Assessment: Evaluate various factors influencing distressed credit investments, such as industry dynamics, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic conditions to assess potential risks and returns.
  4. Legal and Documentation Review: Analyse legal documentation, covenants, and restructuring plans associated with distressed assets to assess potential outcomes and implications for investments.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and other stakeholders to present investment recommendations, articulate investment theses, and contribute to portfolio construction decisions.
  6. Market Monitoring and Research: Stay updated on distressed credit market trends, bankruptcy proceedings, and distressed opportunities, providing regular market insights and actionable recommendations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, or related field. Advanced degree or CFA designation preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in distressed debt analysis, restructuring, or related fields within a financial institution or investment firm.
  • Strong understanding of distressed debt markets, bankruptcy proceedings, and restructuring processes.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and data analysis tools (Excel, Bloomberg, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex analyses in a clear and concise manner.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
