Job Description

This is a growing company that has expanded well in its ten years since it started. It ranks high in its field in the UK with a high number of filed trademarks in UK and a growing number across the EU too. It is located in superb offices in the countrysidenear Cambridge and Royston with free parking, free tea and a free tasty coffee machine. The hours are 9 - 5.30 with an hour for lunch and the usual holidays apply as well.The team is really friendly and looks after its employees. It is very important to them that everyone will fit in and work as a team. The offices are air conditioned.You will join a team and have the opportunity to qualify as a paralegal through the Chartered Institute of Trademark Paralegals. No prior experience of law is necessary as the role will be fully taught but you must be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and awillingness to learn. This is a varied role which needs someone with a hands-on proactive approach. There are plenty of people here that will teach and mentor you so it wont be a scary job move.The ideal candidate will likely have some work experience, probably in an office, but if you are, for instance, a recent graduate then the work experience could be in any sector.Ultimately the successful candidate will learn and be involved in:

  • Working with the team, scheduling deadlines and assisting attorneys in their day-to-day work;
  • Scheduling and allocating trademark work of all kinds;
  • Filing trademarks;
  • Dealing with registry correspondence and notifying clients at various stages of application process;
  • Preparing and submitting forms to the various Trademark Registries.
  • Maintaining our trademark database (WebTMS) and deadlines associated with various trademark proceedings.
  • Liaising with associates regarding filings, ongoing work and obtaining quotations and country specific requirements;
  • Preparing reports re deadlines and work in hand.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of Word.
  • An enthusiasm to learn and be part of a busy team.
  • Have their own transport as there is no access to our offices via public transport services.
