Job Description

We are currently looking for a Trainee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Operator to join our busy team in Royston!Salary: CompetitiveTrainee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Operator Duties:

  • To support with the degreasing of components,
  • Use different methods to test the properties of materials and check for non- conformances such as cracks, linier indications, and other defects in manufactured components.
  • Ensure that all tests are carried out in accordance with relevant customer specifications & standards.
  • Examine and the test the properties of materials and components using methods such as Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), visual, tensile, hardness, and conductivity testing.
  • Accurate interpretation and completion of production route cards and data sheets.
  • Work collectively as a team to achieve company work & quality standards in addition to delivery targets.
  • Perform all reasonable requests made by management.
Trainee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Operator Requirements:
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical documentation, visual aids and drawings.
  • BINDT Level 2 qualified (External training courses and examinations required)
  • Must be able to work under own initiative with limited supervision, accurately and timely.
  • To have good colour vision
  • Able to work with a protection mask for short periods of time
  • Intermediate level of IT skills
  • Health and Safety conscious
  • Team Player
  • Flexible (overtime and varying shift patterns when required)
  • Willing to engage in continuous improvement projects
  • Good timekeeper
  • Attention to detail
  • A working knowledge of relevant standards (AS9100, NADCAP)
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
