Job Description

We are currently looking for either a Skilled NDT Operator (Level 2) or a Trainee NDT Operator to join our busy team at our site in Royston! (For the Trainee position training will be provided both internally and externally to meet the requirements needed to obtain the BINDT Level 2 qualification). For the NDT Operator position you must be BINDT Level 2 qualified.Salary: £10-£14 per hour depending on which role and experiencePurpose of Roles:

  • On site testing of parts, materials
  • To support with the degreasing of components,
  • Using UV dye-penetrant method to test the properties of materials and check for non-conformances such as cracks, linier indications and other defects in manufactured components.
  • Ensuring that all tests are carried out in accordance with relevant customer specifications & standards
Skilled / Trainee NDT Operator Duties:
  • Examining and testing the properties of materials and components using methods such and reporting on formed components using methods such as Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), visual, tensile, hardness, and conductivity testing.
  • Accurate interpretation and completion of production route cards and data sheets.
  • Work collectively as a team to achieve company work & quality standards in addition to delivery targets.
  • Supporting daily/weekly maintenance tasks on NDT plant.
  • Perform all reasonable requests made by management.
Skilled / Trainee NDT Operator Requirements:
  • Must be able to work under own initiative with limited supervision, accurately and timely.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical documentation, visual aids and drawings
  • To have good colour vision
  • Able to work with a protection mask for short periods of time
  • Intermediate level of IT skills
  • Health and Safety conscious
  • Team Player
  • Flexible (overtime when required)
  • Working in shift pattern
  • Attention to detail
  • A working knowledge of relevant standards (AS9100, NADCAP)
