Job Description

EHS SpecialistRoystonHybrid workingInside IR35£350-£450/day - umbrellaPAYE rate also available Ensure that all projects are delivered in compliance with all relevant EHS regulatory requirements, supporting them from project design through to commissioning. Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses with a safety and/or health impact, ensuring that all actions and learning points are completed and shared where this is appropriate. Review the impact of projects on existing site procedures with regards to COMAH requirements and update them accordingly. Ensure audits are conducted according to schedule validating that project works are being undertaken in line with all EHS compliance expectations, e.g. ensuring adherence with Construction Plans, JM lifesaving policies, site safe systems of work, siterules and CDM Regulations. Coordinate an EHS Behavioural Leadership Standards programme across all Royston site projects. Attend Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects review meetings, where appropriate. Liaising with EHS teams to ensure that all projects across the site can be and are being delivered safely. For example, ensuring that there are robust plans in place for safe construction activities, including transportation routes, and that projects areco-habiting the site safely. Working with Group Facilities to deliver a viable coordinated projects logistics plan, including, but not limited to parking and contactor facilities e.g. laydown areas and welfare facilities. Support and advise on Construction safety standards across the site, undertaking and/or supporting all relevant CDM responsibilities and activities (e.g. contributing to CDM construction phase reviews, Coordinating sitewide construction site traffic managementplans etc.). Support projects in compiling relevant project Health and Safety information, specification, and strategies (e.g. containment, ergonomics/manual handling, PUWER etc.) liaising with Department/Group EHS teams where requiredskills required -- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Occupational Health & Safety based subject- NEBOSH diploma (Level 5 or 6) or equivalent experience- Good understanding of Environmental, Health and Safety issues in a Chemical/COMAH site- Experience of working on an Upper Tier COMAH site with a strong understanding of process safety- Detail-orientated with experience within a Chemical, Manufacturing or Oil & Gas environment- Have a strong understanding of CDM Regulations and general construction safety standards and guidance- Ability to engage and influence others and the experience of working in a fast-paced and high-risk environment- Experience interpreting communication and legislative requirements and working with environmental and energy regulations, including COMAH- Experience of stakeholder management and communication with various levels of an organization- Skilled at working effectively with key stakeholders for an organisation, both internal and external- Trained auditor (OSHAS18001 or ISO45001)- Excellent demonstrable use of Microsoft Word, Excel and other IT systems- Project/program management experience- An ability to provide innovative solutions to problems- Ability to interpret business standards, UK regulations and other compliance requirements to ensure this is reflected and up-to-date in relevant policies and procedures- Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to aid project implementation.- Maintain confidentiality at all times.Guidant Global is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
