Job Description

This role is working for a company developing products that transform the way in which Scientists and Researchers work by providing automated scientific instrumentation that accelerates research and makes a tangible difference to human health.They have a strong and growing customer base, and want to drive their consumables sales by developing a strategy that will see their consumable business double in the next 4 years. For this reason, they are keen to hire a product manager who will work closelywith Sales & Applications to exploit this business opportunity to its fullest.Product Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Define (new) opportunities to capture the full potential of the existing consumable portfolio. Establish consumables growth targets aligned with regional sales and marketing plans.
  • Establish business intelligence insights that highlight high potential accounts and working with Sales & Applications develop plans to maximise the consumables opportunity in these accounts.
  • Drive the development of additions to the consumable portfolio (third party and / or inhouse development)
  • Complete the consumable portfolio enabling the company to offer one-stop shopping experiences to predefined customer segments and / or applications; - e.g. Crystallography and Genomics
  • Consolidate and harmonize the portfolio to make selling and buying consumables easy
  • Represent the company to increase awareness and drive profitable sales; - this may involve direct sales or distributor support, as well as product promotion and lead generation at conferences and roadshows
  • Deliver internal trainings for the relevant product lines, clearly communicating product vision and value, as well as demonstrating practical usage
  • Maintain competitive insights and market trends to maximize current offering as well as future direction and sales strategy
  • Manage the analysis of technical problems / complaints to define root causes and fixes
  • Participate in Quality Management- as well as Product Development Meetings
  • Visit customers (national and international)
Product Manager Requirements:
  • Minimum BSc (Hons) in a STEM discipline
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Product Management, Sales or Marketing in Life Sciences
  • Market knowledge and network in either liquid handling or workflow automation desirable
  • Project Management
  • Experience in business relevant financial and administrative tasks

  • Analytical/Problem solving skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to present at all levels from face-to-face customer visits to conference presentations and sales pitches.

  • Very good skills in another, relevant language, are considered an advantage
  • Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proven ability to work independently (e.g. schedule daily duties, prioritize tasks, etc.)
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to pay attention to detail
