Job Description

I am working closely with my manufacturing client to recruit an experienced Process Safety Engineer to join the on-site Engineering Team at their busy refinery processing plant in Royston. As a key member of the on-site EHS Technical Team you will ensure focus and delivery of all activities regarding process safety, while driving programmatic process safety risk reduction for both sites. You will be supporting the continued development and implementation of the Process Safety Management strategy for the business. This will include implementation of the companys process safety policies to ensure compliance, reporting metrics and incidents.Applications are invited from experienced Process Safety Engineers who have previously worked within a high-risk manufacturing environment and/or production facility in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, nuclear, chemicals, oil & gas, agro-chemicals, resins, pigments, or similar process-driven industries. Experience of COMAH sites would be very beneficial.Key responsibilities:

  • Drive company strategy to ensure compliance with Control Of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations, and with local Process Safety legislations, internal process safety policies, procedures and programs.
  • Improve and develop Process Safety & Risk Management (PSRM) practices and systems across the site that are efficient and drive consistent behaviours and systematically control process safety risk and compliance.
  • Lead the development of process safety related standards, information and procedures; assures coordination with the EHS, engineering, technical, and operations areas
  • Provide expertise on process safety risk assessment and risk management processes, methods, and standards; leading process safety risk assessment across the site, coaching others in risk management methodology, and ensuring process safety compliance to company policies.
  • Ensure the sites Process Hazards Analysis (PHAs) are completed on time, and the PHA actions are managed and reviewed accordingly.
  • Implementation of a compliance and corrective action plan for DSEAR / ATEX compliance and produce KPIs for EHS Steering committee.
  • Support and facilitate Management of Change (MoC) assessments and ensure appropriate process hazard analysis methodologies are used based on scope of work.
  • Provide process safety input into capital projects and ensure compliance with company policies and other relevant national/international/regulatory standards.
