Job Description

Our client is based locally in Royston are going through an exciting period of growth and due to a recent restructure are now looking to recruit an ambitious Financial Controller to head up their finance function.This is a newly created role and will report directly to the Directors of the business. It will oversee 3 member of staff and will suit a commercially minded person who can manage and improve the organisations financial performance and direct our accountingoperations.The company have ambitious plans to capitalise on this recent success and put the building blocks in place for future growth.The role will suit someone who wants to develop and progress to become a Finance Director in the future.Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Produce Full Management Accounts
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Budgets and forecasting
  • Analysis and providing commentary on variances for MD.
  • Evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations,
  • Publishing financial statements,
  • Overseeing accounting operations,
  • Lead the annual audit for 2 businesses
  • Analysing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.
  • The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be highly organized, and have excellent leadership skills.
  • The noteworthy financial controller should streamline our accounting functions and operations, provide financial analysis and reports,
  • Oversee business finance issues, promote regulatory compliance, and drive income generation.
  • Prepare and provide commentary of analysis for Directors.
  • Control & completion of Month End process
  • Ownership of Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Overhead review, analysis, and comparatives with improvement recommendations
  • Ownership of VAT
  • Daily Cashflow management
  • Business Partner Key contact and resource for completion of Year End Statutory Accounts
  • Implementation of all necessary transaction process, policies, controls, and procedures
The ideal candidate will either be later stages of study or qualified ACCA or CIMA.
