We are recruiting for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Engineer to lead the electronics and design engineering of a new portable medical device. This company has recently been spun-out of a massively successful Cambridgeshire based R&D consultancy. Youll be working in a multi-disciplinary environment on a really exciting new innovation. Relocation assistance is also available if you should need it.The Role:* Own the development of the mechanical and electrical elements of the hardware* Responsibility for all aspects of the electromechanical design of the system* Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team* Working towards rapid development for clinical trials of the device* Undertake development to medical standards and anticipate specific challenges associated with medical device development About You:* A 1st or 2:1 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.* A strong academic record demonstrating a good grasp of the first principles of your subject * Substantial experience in the development of medical devices incorporating mechanical and electrical elements* Practical experience of electronics, schematic design and use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analysers. * Deep experience of in mechanical engineering and industrial designBonus Skills:* First-hand experience in the transfer-to-manufacture of medical diagnostic devices * Familiarity with development under ISO13485, with an emphasis on Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. IEC62304) and consideration of risk management processes (e.g. ISO14971) Start: ASAPLocation: CambridgeshireSalary: £NegotiableBenefits: * A generous employer pension contribution* Employee share scheme* Private medical insurance* Profit share* 25 days annual holiday plus bank holidays* Life insurance* Discounts and memberships to local sports facilities and the theatre* Cycle to Work scheme* A comprehensive relocation package is also available, if applicable.If you are interested in this position, feel you have the relevant experience and skills and would like to apply, please call our team on or apply online.
