Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children in need We are currently seeking dedicated individuals for a temporary-to-permanent role in a 5 bedded childrens home. If you possess the skills, experience and compassion necessaryto provide exceptional care, this opportunity may be perfect for you!Residential Support WorkerBedford £11ph / £22,800pyThis 5 bedded childrens home is committed to providing a nurturing and safe environment for children who require residential care. They focus on creating a warm and supportive atmosphere that promotes the childrens development, wellbeing and individual potential.Initially, you will work on a temporary basis, after 3 months the role will transition to permanent employment based on performance and organisational need. Working hours may include days and nights, weekends, and public holidaysAs a Residential Support Worker, your primary responsibilities will include:1. Providing direct care and support to children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.2. Building positive relationships with the children, promoting trust, and maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.3. Assisting with daily routines, including personal care, mealtime supervision, and supporting educational and recreational activities.4. Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to implement care plans and support the childrens individual goals.5. Documenting observations, incidents, and progress in accordance with policies and procedures.6. Promoting a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that encourages the childrens personal growth, self-esteem, and resilience.7. Demonstrating a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children in your care.To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:1. Previous experience working with children or young people in a care or residential setting.2. Knowledge of child development, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care.3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues.4. Compassion, patience, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.5. An understanding of safeguarding procedures and the ability to promote the welfare of children.6. A relevant qualification in social work, child care, youth work, or a related field is desirable but not essential.7. A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one.8.
