Job Description

We are currently representing a fast growing international engineering company, sourcing an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team in a newly created permanent role.The role sits within the finance team based in their offices near Royston, Hertfordshire. This is the idea opportunity for an ambitious individual with a strong transactional background and some exposure to management accounts, looking to take the next stepin their career. Due to growth, and implementation of systems & processes, there will be plenty of opportunity for progression and promotion in the future.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation and submission of VAT Return and EC Sales List
  • Assist preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Accruals & Prepayments
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • WIP Analysis
  • Stock reporting and analysis
  • Gross Profit Analysis at both project and department level
  • Supporting Administration Team
  • Processing expenses & credit card statements
  • Maintain, implement, and improve internal controls and procedures
  • Supporting the Management Accountant and Finance Director
  • Support Parent Company finance queries and the Group Finance Director
  • All aspects of the purchase ledger function: matching, batching & coding invoices.
  • Preparing and processing payments via BACS
  • Raising sales invoices
  • Allocating payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Supplier reconciliations
  • Credit control - via phone, email and letter
CANDIDATE PROFILE / REQUIREMENTS
  • Good spoken and written communication skills
  • Ideally studying (ACCA or CIMA)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, v-look ups) and Word
  • Confident, approachable and team orientated
  • Show initiative and prepared to change working practice
HOURS, SALARY, BENEFITS & LOCATION
  • The working hours are flexible (08:30-17:00 or 09:00-17:30) Monday to Friday
  • £30,000 - £36,000 per annum depending on experience
  • 25 days holiday
  • Healthcare & Life Assurance
  • Full time office hours (near Royston)
