Job Description

Title: Job CoachLocation: South YorkshirePay: £16 - £18 per hour including holiday payDuration: 37 hours per week until permanent positions have been filled.Reed - Further Education are seeking a Job Coach who will work with academic and support staff to support and monitor the performance and progress of learner who have EHCPs.What’s the day-to-day responsibilities of a Job Coach

  • Support Young people to enable them to gain, learn from, develop in and maintain their internship and to make a positive progression on to paid sustainable employment
  • Support employers to enable them to offer a meaningful internship and recruit interns where possible.
  • Vocational profiling and assessment.
  • Undertaking job analysis & job matching in collaboration with the SI work-placement co-ordinators.
  • Negotiating or job carving’ roles for learners.
  • Support learners with travel and mobility training.
  • Support learners prepare and attend interviews.
  • Sourcing and gathering relevant documentation for the learners work placement.
  • Accompanying learners on employer visits and supporting them settle and undertake a thorough induction with their employer.
  • Act as a mentor for the learner whilst on placement.
  • Provide ongoing support and training for learners on placement.
  • Applying systematic instruction training where appropriate.
  • Support learners model work place behaviours.
  • Target setting, monitoring and reviewing progress.
  • Supporting for the learner with problem-solving and act as an advocate for learners if things go wrong.
You will…Comply with KCSIE and represent the Group as a member of the safeguarding team, attend Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), Looked After Child (LAC), Personal Education Plan (PEP) conference and reviews as appropriate.Support a range of work-related activities, experiences and placements within the workplace, specifically for learners with EHCPs on Pre-Internship and Supported Internship provision.Use predictive tools to monitor learner progress and support learners to meet or exceed their Target Aim Grade (TAG) ensuring all SEND, EHCP and learners with High Needs will have identified initial starting points.Use intervention and support strategies to ensure learner attendance and satisfaction meets college targets.Identify and deploy intervention and support strategies to ensure no significant outcomes gaps, particularly with the most disadvantaged and learners with high needs.Department InfoYou will be employed within FLEX curriculum area and managed by the Head of SEND & High Needs; whilst operationally being supported by the Curriculum Team Leaders.You will be deployed predominantly to the department for learners with complex and high needs to support with pre-internship and Supported Internship provision. Re-deployment to vocational studies departments will be at the direction of the site LSA Coordinator(s)& FLEX curriculum Manager/Head of SEND 7 High Needs where appropriate.You will be based in vocational study programme staff rooms to better facilitate daily collaboration with academic staff and management to ensure the effective support of learners identified as SEND, EHCP and High Needs and efficient communication betweenthe academic and support services.You will collaborate effectively with cross college staff and other Stakeholders as and when appropriate.You will report to the Head of Student Support and Safeguarding for advice and guidance in matters relating to safeguarding referrals.Our excellent benefits and rewards package:
