Job Description

Annual salary: up to £24,500.00 Are you a hands Technician, looking to work for an award winning business with great benefitsThe Role:Here at the Mears Group, we are searching for an experienced Water Hygiene Technician to help benefit the lives of their local community. The purpose of the role will be to undertake site visits, and undertake tasks ensuring property compliance with all relevant Legionella legislation and regulations.This is a Permanent Position offering a Salary of £24,500. Primary location will be in Luton however you will be responsible for local and national travel with potential overnight stays.About Mears:A positive contribution towards the communities that we serve is something that we always adhere to.   • All aspects of compliant ACOP L8 4TH Edition 2013 Legionella monitoring regime to include Monthly Temperature monitoring of sentinel and representative outlets, Quarterly showerhead cleaning and descaling, cold water storage tank visual inspections, calorifier cleaning, inspection and purging
  • Deliver out basic building and system surveys
  • Carry out Potable water sampling for Legionella/TVC when applicable
  • Responsible for cleaning and disinfection of cold-water storage tanks
  • Carry out servicing and maintenance of thermostatic mixing valves
  • Maintenance and recording of all data in site logbooks
  • Production of simple office-based reports
  • Production of simple line diagrams
  • Customer Liaison and feedback
  • To act at all times in accordance with Mears Group Policies, Processes and systems
  • Compliance with ISO9001, 14001 and 18001 at all times
  • Support and participate in the continuous improvement of the Water Hygiene function
  • To be willing to operate Mears IT systems
    • What we need from you:It is essential that you have Legionella Awareness Training and have experience of working within Social Housing with Significant experience of working in a multi-site social housing operation or facilitiesExperience of landlord’s hazards and their controlKnowledge of legionella risk assessmentsOrganised and logical approach to work with excellent attention to detailExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to external and internal contacts in a positive wayPossibly Legionella Risk Assessor qualificationsAble to use a variety of IT systems, Full, current driving licenceAble to work alone or as part of a teamDemonstrates company values ALWAYS putting the customer firstWhat we can offer you:Competitive Salary £24,500 depending on experience.25 Days Annual leave plus bank holidaysLong service and additional holiday leave - Colleagues who stay for a period at Mears are rewarded for their service.Family Fun DayPension and Life insuranceIf this job is of interest to you, please submit your application and someone from our recruitment team will be in touch
