Job Description

Bennett and Game are currently working with one of the UKs largest independently owned Logistics companies, currently seeking a skilled and proven Transport Manager to join their successful team in their Rotherham location.Our client are looking for an experienced and proven Transport Manager to lead, empower and develops the Transport Team taking ownership and direct responsibility for the operational success on a day-to-day basis.Transport Manager Position Overview

  • Direct ownership and management of the day-to-day transport operation, leading the Transport Team.
  • Management of fleet and operational compliance.
  • OCRS management
  • Financial performance responsibility of site operation including producing daily and weekly KPIs.
  • Operators Licence responsibility.
  • Writing and issuing Risk Assessments/Safe Systems of Work.
  • Record monitor & be proactive in achieving improved fuel efficiency and better MPG.
  • Inspection & service schedule management.
  • Maintenance and Management of the Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Ensuring customer requirements are administered in a timely, controlled, and recorded manner.
  • Liaise, support, and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Promote effective and efficient standards of work, in order to comply with transport legislation, company policy and Health & Safety legislation.
  • To carry out investigations or incident reports in relation to any vehicle incidents when necessary.
  • Asset register management.
  • Driver recruitment.
  • Managing Driver hours, WTD rules.
  • Ensure all drivers (core and agency) are inducted correctly and Compliance is monitored.
  • Manage tachograph infringements to ensure full compliance.
  • Manage driver briefing / de-briefing including downloading driver Digi cards.
Transport Manager Position Requirements
  • Management CPC - Essential
  • Ownership and responsibility for Accreditations and Audits Inc. BRC, ISO, FORS ensuring relevant practices in place as part of standard operations.
  • The ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions
  • Experience working in a senior logistics management role within SME/3PL/FMCG
  • Knowledge of multiple sectors in General Haulage, Pallet, and Tanker Distribution.
  • Proven experience managing compliance and drivers
Transport Manager Position Remuneration
  • Salary DOE - £35 - 50k
  • 50 hours per week Mon to Fri
