Job Description

CK Group are recruiting for a Trainee Quality Technician to join a leading provider of speciality metals, alloys and materials. The role is based in Rotherham and is on a full time, permanent basis.The salary for this role is £18,500 -£20,000, with a £1,000 rise after probationary period. The company offers full training including qualifications and certifications related to quality, and an attractive employee benefit package.The Role:

  • To provide flexible and efficient co-ordination of company quality systems.
Your main duties will be:
  • Perform weekly testing for Moisture content & Sieve size analysis on casting materials, Portable hardness testing, Dimension, Weight and Apparent Porosity tests on pre-furnaced products.
  • Site performance inspections on a variety of internal processes and checking of correct data entry (SPC charts).
  • Assist in maintaining internal audit records.
  • Perform effectiveness checks on systems implemented by the Quality department.
  • Entry of customer complaints into tracking system.
  • Assist in performing site trial work recording key data.
  • Perform site monthly housekeeping audits along with follow up audits until actions are cleared.
  • Maintain departmental photo archive system of site alterations / improvements.
  • Meet standards of performance
The ideal candidates skills and qualifications:
  • At least three GCSE grade C or above in Maths, English and Science (or equivalent)
  • IT skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good organisation skills and initiative
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in all undertakings
  • An understanding of quality procedures, auditing and the audit process.
  • A working knowledge of management systems such as BSI; document control including procedure writing and amending.
  • Laboratory experience performing test such as sieve, L.O.D, portable hardness.
