Job Description

Team LeaderAn exciting position has become available for full time Team Leader to join a friendly team based in Rotherham. The successful candidate will earn £25,704 per annum. The main purpose of the role will be to assist the Service Manager in overseeing accommodation and support services for offenders, ex-offenders or people at risk of offending at a specified group of projects in accordance with Target Housing policies and procedures.The successful candidate will take specific responsibility for the seven bed Rough Sleepers Initiative Hostel and the company’s Low-Level supported Housing project.The post holder will be expected to travel locally on a regular basis. Therefore, a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is required. This position is based on 39 hours per week, working mainly Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 6pm, however there will be some expectancy to work outside of these days and time when needs require.Role Requirements

  • Up-to-date knowledge of supported housing
  • Over 2 years’ experience of working in a housing organisation
  • Experience of providing support or care to vulnerable clients
  • Understanding of the British judicial system
  • Role Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility to the running of the Rough Sleepers Initiative and Low-Level AST Housing Project.
  • Monitor or assist in monitoring, on an ongoing basis, and periodically audit, the services provided to ensure that they meet agreed standards and leads to continuous improvement.
  • Supervision to a proportion of the staff team.
  • Investigate and respond to complaints in order to identify and implement service improvement.
  • Take decisions on referral and allocations along with the Service manager so that accommodation is let to the highest priority clients, as defined in the company lettings policy.
  • Monitor service users’ compliance with tenancy or licence agreements and take action to resolve non-compliance issues, including initiating possession procedures and representing the company in court proceedings where necessary.
  • Implement company policies and procedures and monitor practice to ensure effective implementation and compliance. Contribute to the development of new policies and procedures and keep existing policies and procedures so that they meet current and future needs of service users and the organisation.
  • Manage the performance of the team as directed by the Service manager, so that it provides a consistent support service for service users and achieves targets and standards.
  • Build effective relationships with landlords and other commissioners to ensure that their expectations are fully met.
  • Ensure regular risk assessments at projects and of individuals, plan and implement actions to control risk to ensure the health and safety of service users and staff at all times
  • Ensure that all records (service users, staff, lettings, support plans, risk assessments, etc) are accurate and up to date.
  • Assist the Service Manager to ensure that all monitoring data returns to funders e.g. Supporting People/landlords are completed accurately and returned on time, and that appropriate data capture systems are in place and up-to-date.
  • Prepare reports for internal and external bodies so that project performance is reported accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with other agencies with regards to suitable ‘move on’ accommodation.
  • Keep up-to-date with any relevant health and safety developments, or changes in legislation or good practice.
  • Attend as required, meetings, conferences, seminars etc on behalf of the company.
  • Develop Quality Assurance systems as requested and required and help in the monitoring and managing of quality assurance in the delivery of all of our services.
  • Deputise for the Service manager during periods of absence.
  • Liaise with external agencies such as probation, landlords, police, prisons and others as appropriate to the nature of the work of the company.
  • Aim to seek a resolution with regard to resident/neighbour disputes. Mediate during disputes between residents and decide on the appropriate action.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required to further the aims of the company.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and processes.
