Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP)This post is primarily to enhance the 27/7 Approved Mental Health Rota within RMBC. Practising Approved Mental Health Professional Demonstrable experience of working within Mental Health Services Applying social work practice and social work theory to complex cases Carrying out risk assessments in complex cases Experience of multi-agency working Undertaking safeguarding investigations Experience of working within Legal framework including Care Act, Mental Capacity Act etcThe post holder will also plan and provide an effective range of specialist social work interventions for working age who are experiencing their first episode of mental disorder or individual who are known to mental health services and their carers and families.The post holder will carry out specialist assessments in collaboration with other professionals and where appropriate to undertake responsibilities under the Mental Health legislation and associated health and social care legislation, policy and codes ofpracticeThe role will be to enable individuals with complex needs to identify their own support requirements and desired outcomes for themselves and their carers. To provide support to individuals and their carers and families, to ensure their needs and aspirationscontinue to be met. To promote a model of person-centred support for service users & carers to enable then to determine their own solutions. The post holder will also be responsible for a caseload of service users with complex mental health needs.To post holder will provide practice supervision to less experienced qualified staff and to support peers. To provide practice placement supervision for trainee AMHPs
