Job Description

Elevation Senior Finance are partnering with a leading manufacturing and distribution business to recruit a Senior Management Accountant for their Rotherham site. This is a new position that has been created due to the ongoing success / growth of the business. Over the last couple of years they have completed a number of successful acquisitions and they have more in the pipeline. In this role you will be reporting to the UK Finance Director and will be responsible for preparing and analysing management accounts and other financial reports, overseeing accounting procedures and practices, and providing financial support and advice tosenior management.Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and other financial reports such as budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis using data from multiple sources
  • Prepare monthly product profitability analysis for all segments of the business
  • Operate as subject matter expert for management accounting and FP&A in the implementation of ERP systems
  • Oversee the management of cost accounting in the ERP system to ensure alignment with Group objectives
  • Present reports to senior management and explain the financial implications of business decisions
  • Compile strategies that will reduce business costs and increase profitability
  • Obtain finance for projects and monitor their financial performance
  • Develop and oversee financial systems and procedures
  • Control income and expenditure within the business and ensure that they are in line with budgets
  • Communicate with all levels within the organisation and present financial information to non-finance staff
  • Analyse and manage risk within the business
Key skills / qualifications: As the business are currently in the early stages of implementing SAP, they would like this person to play a key role in the integration, and therefor it would be beneficial for the successful candidate to have strong ERP experience, preferably with SAP, andideally some experience of ERP implementations.Additional skills:
  • ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and ERP accounting software (SAP is preferable)
  • Solid knowledge of accounting regulations (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, UK GAAP)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience of managing change
  • Strong communication skills
