This role is highly important to maximise student attendance, achievement, progression, and retention.This role will require you to provide pastoral guidance and support for both academic and personal issues to students within the curriculum area. This will be formed through planning and delivery of tutorials in both a group and 1:1 basis.The role will require you to work with students to support personal development and provide a collaborative approach to prevent any barriers to learning. You will work alongside the curriculum team, parents/carers, supporting departments and agencies tothe identify learners at-risk and arrange necessary support interventionsRole Requirements The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with predominantly 14-19-year-olds in a range of personal, social and educational barriers.Manage information including knowledge and understanding of the courses, activities, opportunities that could be required for additional support for students. You will need to posses qualities to develop a strong understanding of that vocational area youare part of.You must hold level 2 in English and Maths, a relevant teaching training and qualification is desired but not essential - the college is happy to consider any Learning Support Assistants who are fully committed to supporting the achievement of welfareof all the learners.Department Info With this role you will operate as part of the curriculum team, inclusive of the planning of the curriculum which will develop the learners knowledge, skills and behaviours beyond the purely academic focussed approach.
