Job Description

Production Manager: An experienced, visible, hands on’ Production Manager is required to introduce & drive a programme of continuous improvement across all areas of the Rotherham based production facility of one of Europe’s leading packaging manufacturers.The successful Production Manager will act as the senior manager on site, taking responsibility for all production activities across a 3-shift system. The successful candidate will line manage the Shift Leaders and Maintenance Team and coordinate activities across Production, Production Planning and Logistics.Through a combination of effective leadership, proven successful experience in a similar senior role and the implementation of recognised production management techniques the successful candidate will initiate, implement and manage change. A key requirement of the role is to drive continuous improvement across different production areas whilst building on successful, well-established processes and systems that are already in place. Minimum 5 years Production Management experience, ideally with knowledge of film extrusion

An engaging leadership style with the ability to lead by example

The ability to adopt new ideas, bringing them to life as part of a creative, problem solving implementation process

Able to implement/change production procedures, making sure they are maintained and become routine for the workforce (e.g. quality checks, shift handover, weekly start up procedure, etc)

Strong analytical skills - able to identify efficiencies quickly

Comfortable in making decisions and taking ownership

Knowledge of Production planning principles and Lean Manufacturing

A general technical understanding, ideally with a background in engineering

5 S Methodology and experience of SAP - desirable
