Job Description

A sector renowned company is seeking a Manufacturing / Process Engineer with good Continuous Improvement knowledge to join their manufacturing site in South Yorkshire on a new project. As a Process Engineer you will work with the main site in the USA tobring similar production lines to the UK.Full training will be provided on the products and lines and therefore, a large proportion of the first 12 months would need to be spent between the UK and USA. This will be fully expensed by the company.As the CI Process Engineer, you will be the technical support for production areas and be responsible for developing manufacturing processes to produce new products and reconfiguring existing production systems for improvements in safety, quality, cost,waste, efficiency, and installing best practices.Benefits:

Key responsibilities of Process Engineer:
  • Evaluate and improve existing manufacturing systems.
  • Develop and implement methods to manufacture new products.
  • Determine and implement required changes to adapt existing manufacturing systems to new product launches.
  • Review, propose and introduce new technologies to improve production processes
  • Manage Bills Of Materials
  • Create new work instructions and procedures
  • Use of continuous improvement and root cause analysis techniques such as 5Y, 8D, PDCA, FMEA, fish bone, TPM
  • Assess manufacturing methods and systems using Value Stream Mapping techniques etc
  • Work with production staff and managers to make process improvements
  • Assist in the development of jigs, fixtures and gauges etc
Skills Required:
  • Ideally Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
  • Lean process knowledge including Seven Wastes, 5S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping
  • Ability to travel to USA significantly in the first 12 months
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ideally hold 3D CAD software knowledge
  • Experience of working in an environment with a culture of continuous improvements
