Job Description

Elevation Recruitment is seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineers in Rotherham. This presents a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established machine manufacturing company.Our client provides advanced technology for products in the metals industry, with a 40-year history of growth and an ongoing commitment to expanding their success for the next 40 years. They are seeking dedicated individuals with a wealth of experience anddesign knowledge to join their team and contribute to a world-leading industry.The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a crucial role in mechanical engineering design activities, from initial concept through production and final contract completion. This includes ensuring proactive, on-time, and within-budget project completion, ultimatelydelivering the highest level of customer satisfaction.The Mechanical Design Engineers duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying new design possibilities to deliver cost-effective solutions that meet customer needs, utilizing both AutoCAD 2D and Inventor. Training can be provided for Inventor, if not already experienced, but proficiency in 2D is essential.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor at all times to develop designs aligned with the businesss principles, strategy, goals, and customer expectations.
  • Reviewing requirements documentation for each contract to ensure that objectives and technical specifications are clearly defined and understood, particularly for EDT, SCM, In-Chain, and Rollscan products.
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant safety standards.
  • Providing guidance and support during production, with a focus on assembly, mechanical procedures, and critical dimensions/checks.
  • Supplying comprehensive design documentation to support production.
Elevation Recruitment Group is eager to engage with Mechanical Design Engineers who have demonstrated skills and experience, including:
  • Ideally holding qualifications at HND/Degree level in Mechanical Engineering or a similarly recognized engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of hands-on experience in a heavy engineering environment, developing mechanical design solutions.
  • Knowledge of safety systems, safety standards, and mechanical design standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor, along with general computer literacy.
  • Effective communication skills for interactions with customers and suppliers.
