Job Description

They are committed to innovation and the continual pursuit of improvement,and with a brand holding over 100 years of service they are now developing their technology capabilities, venturing into new markets and building their customer base further.On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12 Month contract based in Rotherham.Purpose of the Role:

  • The opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer within the engineering team of the ABCF. The roles cover a variety of ME disciplines including Part Owners and Process Owners to complete continuous improvement and capability acquisition activity.
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for:
  • Manage and deliver validation activity and creation of FAIR Stage 1 technical package.
  • Control, monitor and improve key casting features (CCFs) to achieve CPK1.33 and above.
  • Use DMAIC approach; develop DOE trials to continuously improve the process to meet Quality, Cost and Delivery business metrics.
  • Technically control and accountability for the process area including HSE and Process Compliance to relevant standard.
  • Continuous improvement using PFMEA and DMAIC approach to deliver RFT and Yield Improvement
  • Process Improvements to deliver
What we require from the candidate:
  • You will need to be a determined, enthusiastic engineer with a passion, motivation and personal drive to succeed and a vision of how modern manufacturing should be achieved.
  • Ideally candidates will possess a basic understanding of investment casting process and ideally with relevant turbine blade cast product.
  • Previous experience of part validation (First Article Inspection) and creation of technical package
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DMAIC principles including the use of SPC, Minitab & Gauge RR
  • Working experience of implementing process improvements and PFMEA into a manufacturing environment
  • A high computer literacy and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels on technical issues need to be demonstrated. Moreover you need to have demonstrated the ability to successfully deliver technically challenging programmes of work followinga structured methodology.
  • You will be educated to degree level or above.
