Job Description

Brewster Partners are working in exclusive partnership with Masuku as they look to recruit a brand new position.Masuku is currently recruiting an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for its production and R&D facility in South Yorkshire, due to open in February 2021. The facility, where a unique combination of advanced manufacturing processes will be deployed, will focus on producing Masukus proprietary nanofiber filtration material - optimised to simultaneously achieve best-in-class filtration efficiency and breathability whilst being 100% biodegradable.The company Masuku is a high-tech sustainable filtration company founded by a pioneering circular economy design & technology firm, alongside high-profile leaders from across the fashion industry.Over the last two years, Masuku has developed a suite of cutting-edge technologies which will be applied across a number of face mask and filtration products. Combined with a deep expertise in product design, Masuku now plans to revolutionise the mask and air filtration industry offering a safe, comfortable and natural breathing experience to its users.Masuku is a vibrant and rapidly expanding international organisation who is actively seeking to appoint a multi skilled Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. The appointee who will report to the Technical Manager will be responsible for the maintenance of all plant and equipment within the facility. As well as ensuring that maintenance schedules are devised and completed to provide optimum availability and performance of critical production process the appointee will also make important contributions to facility continuous improvement programs to increase manufacturing productivity and output.The job: Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that all facility plant and equipment is maintained to provide optimum levels of performance and availability for production activities.
  • Working safely and in accordance with company HSE policies and procedures as well as ensuring that maintenance and equipment inspection activity complies with all statutory requirements.
  • Adopting a hands-on and flexible approach to keeping production process lines working, utilising the support of and overseeing the work of third party specialists where required.
  • Working with the Technical Manager to develop and implement a scheduled, tracked and recorded comprehensive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program covering all facility machines and equipment.
  • Providing engineering support and recommendations to management team lead continuous improvement programs to generate improvements in production productivity, output and total cost of manufacture.
  • The person The business are looking for someone:
  • Apprentice trained you will have a recognised electrical qualification (including "IET 18th Edition "or similar) along with extensive plant maintenance experience, both mechanical and electrical within a fast paced light manufacturing or process industry environment.
  • Experience of general electromechanical maintenance of light multi-stage product assembly lines a distinct advantage.
  • Working knowledge of current H&S legislation ideally with a NEBOSH/IOSH qualification. Familiarity with statutory safety and inspection requirements for operating plant and equipment within a production facility.
  • Knowledge and experience of the establishment and implementation of formal preventative maintenance schedules (TPM)
  • Flexible, "can-do" approach comfortable with both hands-on day to day maintenance and repair activity as well completing necessary administrative work required to plan and document activity.
  • Experience of instructing and overseeing essential work completed by external suppliers/-contractors.
  • Good general communication and IT skills, well organised. Should be flexible in approach, a committed team player and wanting to make a positive contribution to the future success and growth of an exciting new business.
