Job Description

Ref: 85Role: IT ManagerSalary: £40,000 - £45,000Location: RotherhamWorking days: Monday to FridayThe Role:

  • Assist with company-wide IT strategy, planning and implementation.
  • Continual review of Company systems and advise on/implement changes as necessary.
Firewall management - maintenance of firewall rules, security, monitoring of traffic and subscription management.
  • Remote access - user management and access restriction.
  • General networking - maintenance of networking equipment, creation of new connections, VLAN management, reporting and security.
  • 3rd party integration - setup of connections for 3rd party integrations as required.
  • Endpoint protection - client AV/malware protection management, client patch management, endpoint encryption, regular compliance monitoring and reporting.
  • Gateway protection - gateway security monitoring, updating and troubleshooting.
  • Physical and Virtual machine backups - monitoring and maintenance, regular checks of backup data consistency and perform regular test restores.
  • Offsite backups - monitoring and maintenance, regular checks of backup data consistency and perform regular test restores.
  • Virtual machine creation and management.
  • Physical server maintenance and monitoring.
  • Ensuring all OS and applications are up to date.
  • Active Directory/domain management.
  • Group policy management.
  • SQL server management and backup.
  • User account management.
  • Local Active Directory integration management.
  • Security and compliance management.
  • Work with any 3rd party IT support providers to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Assist telephony support company with any networking/hardware issues.
  • As required, liaise with software support companies with any complex IT issues on project work.
  • End user support and ticket management.
  • Software installation and device monitoring.
  • Assist with customer support desk queries as required.
  • Escalate any issues to 3rd party support as required.
Requirments
  • Minimum of 3 years previous IT experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Windows networks including monitoring, server admin, routers, switches and VLANs.
  • Experience with Active Directory: DNS, DHCP, GPO.
  • Experience in provisioning and maintaining Windows client and servers.
  • Experience of working with virtualised environments.
  • Knowledge of email systems, preferably Microsoft 365.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the companys work.
  • Able to work as part of a team, but also be self-motivated when working alone.
  • Willing to take on new challenges and learn new things.
  • Resourceful and adaptable.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of dealing with staff at all levels and stakeholders on a regular basis.
