Job Description

Facilities Officer Full time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per yearPermanentSalary; £24,593 per annumLocation; Dearne Valley College, Rotherham Are you looking for an opportunity to kickstart your careerWith the support of the Head of Estates and Facilities the role of Facilities officer will see you at the front of the day to day co-ordination and operation of a busy Facilities team on a demanding Campus.The role requires a forward thinking and positive approach, ensuring that the buildings are a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. You will have a real impact upon the look and feel of the campus and buildings ensuring high quality surroundings and learning environments that our students deserve.As the Campus leader of the Facilities team you will:

  • ensure the opening and closing of buildings, general maintenance, porterage, cleaning and furniture removals,
  • ensure the campus buildings and general site are safe and kept in good order
  • liaise with contractors onsite to ensure works are completed in a timely and safe manner
  • Respond to emergencies and breakdowns, providing solutions and organising any remedial works to ensure that the site is safe, secure and maintained.
  • confidently use Microsoft Office packages and have an ability to learn how to use other software quickly.
  • adopt a naturally helpful approach, using team work and problem-solving skills to deal with queries and challenges as they arise.
  • Have you got what it takes to be successfulIn this role you will need to be adaptable, dependable, and flexible, understanding the need for the team to be customer focussed in its operation, communication and delivery of service. You need to be able to manage a team.You should have previous experience working in a fast-paced office environment, ideally within a facilities or operational setting.You will have excellent customer service and good IT skills. You will need to have or be willing to work towards your English & Maths and a Facility Management qualification.Our excellent benefits and rewards package:
