Job Description

Electrical Technician Whats on offer

  • Full time permanent role
  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
  • £36,000 to £40,000 per annum

PurposeTo respond to service tickers, perform routine maintenance and provide infrastructure upgrades as required. This role will be required to respond to call outs when major electrical problems arise.Role and Responsibilities
  • Work to ISO9001 quality processes
  • Coordinate and provide technical knowledge on all major breakdowns, advising and working with shift electricians and external contractors
  • Respond quickly to all service requests and efficiently repair electrical systems
  • Work rapidly without compromising safety or quality, to minimise downtimes
  • Communicate with external companies to ensure progression when fault-finding on drives, to reduce the cost of having these services on site
  • Provide back-up and training for shift electricians to enable monitoring or faults on the plant, using the software available
  • Conduct tests and assessments of new systems and repairs to ensure quality and long-term solutions
  • Commit to compliance with all safety standards and regulations at all times
  • Perform preventative maintenance to stay ahead of potential issues
  • Troubleshoot all problems effectively, performing quality, lasting repairs
  • Log all services and report progress to management
  • Organise electrical parts and spares, and assist with coordinating the electrical workload, while reporting to the maintenance coordinator
  • Organise and carry out small electrical projects, and ensure they are delivered safely and on time
  • Assist with coordinating larger electrical projects with external companies
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects
  • Ensure the most cost-effective solution is sought, without compromising quality
  • Assess systems and suggest modifications to prevent future issues
  • Maintain all equipment in excellent working
  • Maintain a clean and organised environment
  • Undertake any other tasks as required by your line manager
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • HNC/HND in electrical engineering
  • Valid electrician license in good standing
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working as an electrical technician preferred
  • Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience working with programs
  • Experience in foundry settings strongly preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment Able to utilise handtools and power tools
  • Ability and willingness to follow all legal and company safety regulations
  • Outstanding problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Physical ability to complete this type of work, often in demanding environments
  • Pride in your work

  • Able to work independently with little supervision
